Minecraft has developed over the years and is now at this
stage where Redstone can be compared to mods (which are used to create
Minecraft EDU). Even though features are the main part the game, it also runs
much faster and in 1.8.1 then the old 1.6.4 where Minecraft EDU is played on. I
know that it is hard to update mods, but the game have been out there for a
while now and nothing have really happened since the update to 1.6.4, but
enough of that. My main point is that you might be able to create the same
features or even better things with the new Game. Which means more learning and
easier to set up servers to kids to do their HW on.
My mission is to re-create Minecraft EDU and more features with no mods! Easier to install and even more fun for the students. The thing is that maybe you don't need so many features to the game if you are just starting off by exploring the beautifully world made of blocks, BUT... After, maybe only a few months, and the students have done most of it and the game is getting boring, that is when the new features of the real game comes in to play, because the mods may help someone who is new to Minecraft, but not the rest of the year! That is all I have to say to that now let me get back to my re-creation of Minecraft EDU. ;D
